More than 200 prosecutions for revenge porn have been brought since the new law came into effect last April, contributing to a record rise in sex offences, the Crown Prosecution Service annual Violence against Women and Girls report showed. Domestic abuse and sex offences made up 18.6% of CPS cases and convictions rose by almost 11% to 87,275, the highest number ever. (See 'The CPS chief', Counsel, October 2016.)
