We are looking to recruit an experienced health and safety or criminal barrister to work in a strong legal team representing various corporate clients, to include on one of the country's most significant corporate manslaughter investigations which is also likely to feature a super-inquest.

This is a superb and unique opportunity to become an expert in health and safety as well as corporate manslaughter legislation in a growing and evolving high risk industry sector with options to return to the Bar following the case with this expertise or convert to a solicitor.

Working with a top 20 International law firm with one of the UK's country's leading Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) departments, working out of its Manchester office. Recognised in Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500 for both disciplines of health and safety and environmental work, we have a collaborative, supportive team working in a modern, flexible environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • You will have an excellent background in criminal and/or health and safety work with 2-7 years' call.
  • You will be bright and ambitious with strong academics.
  • You will be a highly determined individual capable of working effectively in a team.
  • You will be able to supervise junior fee-earners.
  • You will enjoy being challenged by complex legal issues and expanding your knowledge.
  • You will be a confident and effective communicator.
  • You will be focussed on delivering a highly professional service to blue-chip clients.
  • You will possess strong IT skills.
