The “Bar Guide” is a publication which explains the abilities and accessibility of barristers to international (mainly US) clients, and promotes the different specialisms of the Bar.
It is a joint publication between the Bar Council and Incisive Media which owns American Lawyer Magazine. The Bar Guide is distributed to senior American lawyers as an insert to the October issue of the American Lawyer and aims to demystify the practice of the English and Welsh bar, raise its profile in the American legal market and promote the legal services it can offer American clients. This is achieved through both substantive articles written by senior members of the International Committee and the Specialist Bar Associations, and an advertorial section which enables individual members and chambers to place advertisements and sponsored articles. This edition of the Bar Guide focuses on arbitration in the Middle East, the English bar as a gateway to Europe and the impact of the credit crunch on litigation and market offences. The Bar Guide” will also be published on the new law.com website and should be available for viewing there by the time this issue of Bar News in published.
