Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers has joined King’s College London as Dickson Poon Distinguished Fellow and Visiting Professor in The Dickson Poon School of Law.
His appointment is part of a £40m programme of investment made possible by a gift of £20m to the university by Hong Kong retail businessman Dickson Poon. Lord Phillips, who was the UK Supreme Court’s first President until his retirement this year, said: “Having worked in the justice system for over 50 years, it will be an interesting change to be more involved in the world of academia.”
