Bürgerausschuss für die Bürgerinitiative Minority SafePack - one million signatures for diversity in Europe v European Commission

European Union – Citizenship. The General Court of the European Union granted the application by 'Bürgerausschuss für die Bürgerinitiative Minority SafePack — one million signatures for diversity in Europe' for annulment of Commission Decision C(2013) 5969 final of 13 September 2013, rejecting the request for registration of the proposed European citizens' initiative entitled 'Minority Safepack - one million signatures for diversity in Europe'. The General Court held that the Commission had failed to comply with its obligation to state reasons as required by art 296 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
