Civil legal aid – Grant of legal aid – Fairness of application procedure. Court of Session: Granting a petition in which Glasgow City Council('GCC') sought to quash the Scottish Legal Aid Board ('SLAB')'s decision to award the third party legal aid to appeal against the dismissal of judicial review petitions challenging GCC's decisions relating to his mother's welfare rights, the court held that in the absence of consent SLAB was entitled to refuse to supply the additional information provided by the third party which GCC sought, however the third party did not comply with guidance in the SLAB Civil Handbook: he did not give fair notice of the case to GCC.
