Reporting restrictions – Court proceedings. Reporting restrictions preventing the identification of the defendant, who had been sentenced for murder, were lifted. The Swansea Crown Court held that in light of the grave nature of the offence, substantial media interest in the murder, and the fact that the defendant was soon approaching 18 years of age, not only would it be in the public interest to report on the defendant's identity, the defendant's rehabilitation process would not be impacted by any reporting.
