Practice – Freezing order. The Companies Court dismissed an application by the respondents, Blackpool Football Club (Properties) Ltd and other parties, to discharge or vary a freezing order, which had been imposed following an earlier judgment on an unfair prejudice petition, in which the judge had ordered, among other things, a buyout of the shares held by the petitioner, VB Football Assets, in the fourth respondent, Blackpool Football Club Ltd, for a consideration of some £31,270,000. The court held that there was a real risk of dissipation, that the need for a freezing order persisted, such that it should not be discharged and that it should not be varied.
